The big gobble day is tomorrow so I figure since I will be making all the goodies that I would share my menu plan and how I plan to tackle it all.
- Turkey (butter basted and simple seasoned with salt and pepper)
- Green Bean Casserole with fresh mushroom gravy
- Stuffing with Maple Bacon and Apple Sausage
- Cranberry Salsa served over cream cheese
- Mashed Potaoes
- Sweet Potatoes
- Pumkin Pie
- Apple Pie
Well this year the pies my mom offered to make so I don't have to worry about that and the cranberry salsa you have to make the night before so it is ready and tastes right. So both cranberry items I make the night before. It is necessary for that because our oven is tiny, like really tiny so I need to do as much as I can without the oven as possible. I am also going to do most of the chopping the night before too. For the sweet potatoes I think I am going to try them on the stove because I am the only one eating them and I unless we have room in the oven for them by some miracle they will not get done... We shall see what actually ends up happening.
My plan for those sweet potatoes are to chop them up and boil them in pineapple juice and then all the brown sugar and what not when they are closer to being cooked. I think it should turn out great and then when the bird is done I can broil them with the mini marshmallows and not have any issues... At least I do not see any right now. I will update you with how it all turned out this weekend! Anyways time to get cracking on what I need to do and plan some more.
