Caprese on a Stick

So funny story as you all know I was working on my first quilt and cleaning out my fabric bin so somehow I ended up making a rag quilt. Well the rag quilt is almost done, I have the front all sewn together just want to embroider the back and then sew them together, snip the edges, wash it and I will be done with that. So that was an unexpected project but I like new projects.

As far as the quilt I shared the other day I know the layout now and have it organized, I also went and got fabric for the edge and a backing fabric. So I will be working on that and probably finishing it next week.

I have started another set of Valentine’s day place mats but Walmart was out of interfacing and since I have no more left those will wait a little bit. I also picked up some towels so I can finish up my towel hangers. I guess I have been busy.

With being busy I still am cooking up a storm. This week I made some yummy goodness that I am going to share next week. :]

Today is about easy last minute appetizers. We all have been in a spot where we need to bring an appetizer to a party and well we are running out of time. This appetizer is simple and delicious. Caprese on a stick: cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil with some balsamic and salt and pepper. Take cherry tomatoes and half them, cube the mozzarella, and rinse the basil. Take a toothpick slide a basil leaf on the toothpick, half the tomatoe, cube of mozzarella, other half of the tomatoe and wrap the basil around. Place either in a bowel or a plate with a lip. Sprinkle with some salt and pepper and drizzle a little olive oil and balsamic over the top. Really though it is so simple, so good and healthy! It is one of my favorites and go-to appetizers.

Thanks for popping by, stay tuned for the finishing of my quilts and more crafts and recipes. :]

    1. Sewing is not too difficult if you purchase a sewing machine from a sewing center or shop they normally provide free lessons with the purchase. I have been sewing since Middle School but finally have a great machine so quilts are a must for me :)

They really are great and simple so stash it away and use it :)

  4. This is so cute. I made something VERY similar this past summer for a pool party. I put tomatoes, mozzarella, and black olives tossed in a basil/olive oil mixture on sticks. They were a hit!

    1. That sounds fabulous. I am a fan of super easy appetizers. I found another variation that was a sliced tomato (hassleback style) with the mozzarella in between.
