Homemade Granola

Happy Wednesday!

Now that I got that out of the way onto the good stuff!

So I had one of those moments this week where I was thinking of one thing, it turned into another thing and I suddenly realized I had a recipe for homemade granola stored on my computer and I really wanted to make it.  The original recipe is from some Bed and Breakfast in Texas, what part of Texas I don’t remember…what is it called that I don’t recall either. It was at least 7 years ago and at least 4 years since I last made it.

So I pulled up the recipe and realized that I didn’t have any coconut like I needed but I made some modifications and it is still super yummy.

Maple Cherry Granola
·      2 ½ cup quick oats or an 18 oz container
·      1 ½ cup sliced almonds
·      ½ cup chopped pecan pieces
·      6 oz bag of dried cherries
o   Mix all the above together in a large mixing bowl

·      1 cup Canola Oil
·      1 cup pure maple syrup
·      1tbs Vanilla
·      tsp salt
·      1 tsp cinnamon
o   Whisk together, pour over oat mixture and stir until combined

Spread on a baking pan and bake at 325 for 25 minutes until light brown.
Cool and store in an airtight container.

It is pure yumminess and super good as a cereal or added to yogurt. Basically homemade granola is just yum-o!

Make any flavor changes you want do raisins instead of cherries, or coconut, or apricots or strawberries. The possibilities are endless and you can get your bottom dollar I will be making this again… probably in two days to take with us to the raceway this weekend! :]

  3. I LOVE granola :) I'm not a new follower, but I did see you on the hop :) Great recipe. I'll have to try it for sure, I'm actually eating granola now -- so it's kinda funny :) It's plain though and really needs some fruit added to it. Feel free to follow back if you aren't already loveliness the happily ever after project
