So I was going to have exciting news to share but now it has been differed a little so I am going to wait until it is happening before I share it. I have to say I am a little disappointed I have to postpone this but I know it will all work out how it is supposed to.
Now onto other exciting news! I did my race for the cure this weekend and did a personal best of 29:46 so I was pretty stoked but I also know it is a lot easier to run when you do not have a big fur ball getting distracted by anything that flies…. But still it was awesome! I ended up winning 2 VIP tickets to the 4th of July Fireworks show and getting a free 7 day pass to California Family Fitness. I am pretty excited about the gym since the 24-hour fitness up here is like way far away so I have not been able to go and have been trying new workout regimens. So now that the race is done I have no idea what kind of workout I am going to be doing, not sure if running is going to continue or other workouts. I am sure I will figure it out eventually.

Now for today’s menu planning which had to be reconfigured. I thought I had a lot more food in my freezer than I actually did so the configuration changed today.
Monday: Double Crunch Honey Pork Chops & Mashed Taters
Tuesday: Salmon Burgers & Roasted Corn
Wednesday: Lemon Garlic Drumsticks & Parmesan Pasta
Thursday: Shrimp Risotto & Seared Scallops
Sunday: Asian Glazed Drumsticks & Fried Rice
So did you have a good weekend? Nico and I went to the berry fest in Roseville, feedmestrawberries.com it was a fun time. We also saw The Avengers and enjoyed a new sushi restaurant that was fabulous. It was a pretty eventful weekend!
And I crafted… kind of ironically though because I was working on a Father’s Day gift on Mother’s Day… but I did not want to get behind, I would rather have it all completed so I could work on other things then wait until last minute and rush it. And I realized I never shared the quilt I made for my brother. I did a simple square quilt and I love the colors together. :]
It ended up working out that the leftovers from Justin’s quilt could be used for my Dad’s since I am still learning to guess on how much fabric I need and I must admit I kind of suck at it…. But I am working on it.

So since I didn’t share it last time here is Justin’s quilt. I do not know if you can tell but it is supposed to look like a sun with the rays and what not. And for my dad’s it is going to be squares of four small squares then a large square… he is a dog guy so I went that route since I couldn’t find good fishing fabric.
So I will have the rows and everything pieced together tonight and I think that I am going to try free quilting for the first time and hope it turns out well.
Any of you have experience with free motion quilting…. Any recommendations?!
