Hi, I’m Jesika and I love food... which you probably already know! So when I moved and no longer had a Philly’s best near me I needed a way to get my cheesesteak fix. Since I couldn’t find a place I decided to make it on my own!
· Green Bell Pepper
· Garlic Powder
· Onion Powder
· Salt & Pepper
For the steak you can either buy the thin cut steak or use any steak you buy at the store and freeze it then slice it thinly when it is mostly frozen.
While I was slicing the steak the sliced onion and peppers were cooking away.
I seasoned the steak with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and let it sit while the peppers and onions softened. The steak only takes a couple minutes to cook because it is so thinly sliced.
To finish up the sandwich I toasted up the buns prior to adding the steak mixture to the bun. I then topped with sliced provolone and put it under broil for a minute until it was melted.
It was super yummy! I will make it again and I seriously thank Mellissa D'arabian for sharing he frozen meat trick on her show! It would have taken me a while to come up with that idea!
But now that I have that idea tucked away I for sure will be doing it again and again.
I hope you enjoy! I think next time I may try to make some cheese whiz esque sauce to complete the cheesesteak experience! Or maybe just steak provolone and onion rings…. So many options to try!
