DIY Glitter Polish

Happy Birthday to me!

I decided to post a day earlier than I normally do since today is my birthday.

My 22nd on the 22nd so some consider that to be the “golden birthday” and this was posted at the exact time I was born 22 years ago.

So on today, my birthday, my post is about one of my favorite things… nail polish.
I sort of really like nail polish as in every single time I go to Target I end up with a new Sally Hansen nail polish. :]

Well I was going through my polish and realized I had more clear polish than was necessary and I had a couple ideas. The first was to try the whole adding cornstarch to it to make a matte topcoat and second idea was to mix in some eye shadow to make my own color. Though those were good ideas I decided to add glitter!

Now don’t get my wrong I still plan on trying to others but the glitter was a great idea for me since when I mixed it up it was Christmas time and I wanted something festive.
So I took my clear polish, fine glitter and a funnel. It is really easy to do, just pour glitter into the funnel and it goes into the clear. Add as much or as little as you want.
I had a mixture that wasn’t pure glitter but was perfect for what I wanted.
Now I am picking up more clear every time I go to Target since I tend to forget what colors I own already and I don’t really need any duplicates.

I ended up painting the glitter over a plain red and it was super cute.

What is your favorite nail polish brand?!
