Turkey Meatballs

I defrosted some turkey the other night but I had no idea what I wanted to make with it...

Mind you this happens a lot... it should be a problem but in the end my mind creates something to make.

So when the turkey was all defrosted I kinda just stared at it for a bit but then I had a moment where I wanted spaghetti.. but I am on a no carb diet so I made my pasta out of zucchini by slicing it into strips and served it with these turkey meatballs and it was fabulous.

1 lb ground turkey
2 oz smoked gouda- grated
2 cloves garlic
3 sprigs of fresh basil sliced
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
1 tsp onion powder

I put all of the ingredients into a bowl and mixed. I rolled the mixture into balls and browned them on all sides before placing them in a 350 degree oven for 35 minutes.

With 5 minutes left in the baking time I covered the balls with sauce to let them soak up moisture and to heat up the sauce without making a huge mess.
I served my meatballs over zucchini but they are super good over pasta as well!
The meatballs were juicy, yummy and!

Try them out for yourself!

Stay Crafty
