Men's Shirt Refashion

So if you have been following the competition on SYTYC then you saw my upcycle project. Unfortunately I won't be continuing in the competition but I still love crafting so don't worry I will still craft and cook!

Now I think we all know by now that I love refashioning and I have wanted to do the men's shirt thing for a while and so I finally decided it was time.
I had to pop some tags off of this baby because I don't wear my grandpa's clothes... Cheesy song reference anyone?! Anyways I started with this XL men's plaid shirt that I got for $1.99 at that price even if I messed it up it was not a huge loss.
I decided I needed a cute tank top for some summer concerts so I  first cut off the sleeves.
I did a lot of taking in on the sides. I hacked length off and then I cut out the back to leave only a strip that I could add the ruffles to.
Then I got to work creating the back. I used fabric strips from the sleeves to make my ruffle back strap.
I had cut out the back to only have one strip to add the ruffles too and after some crafty pinning and sewing it worked out. I won't like this was probably one of the hardest ones I have done so far.. but I don't know if it was because I ended up rushing since it was due the next day or what but in the end I am still glad I made it and I definitely want to do it again and maybe try to make a dress if I can find a XXL shirt that I like.

I am still working out kinks on making my own clothes but I was presently surprised at how cute it is and I am so excited to wear it.
I hope you enjoy my thrifty clothing upcycle I would say it is much cuter now than it was and now it actually fits me!
